I have been planning this years' sessions since before the 2023 ones ended! So much brainstorming, idea culling and planning goes into my Christmas sessions, because I not only want to provide the very best festive imagery to each and every family who comes along, I also want to provide an experience that will be remembered for years to come. And I am so lucky to have returning clients every year who treat the experience as part of their family Christmas traditions, amazing!
This year, I have so much Christmas fun lined up, and several options so that there is something to suit everyone and all budgets.

This year we have two gorgeous real backdrops, with the option to include a digital scene backdrop, or just have the digital backdrop scene by itself.
'The Night Before christmas'.
Think of how warm and cosy it feels on Christmas Eve, children are snuggled up at home, watching festive movies, opening Christmas eve boxes, drinking hot chocolate and feeling that buzz of excitement for the next day! That vibe is what this backdrop is all about, reading Christmas stories on the rocking chair, cosy-ing up in a blanket with faux bottled milk or hot chocolate mugs, there may even be real cookies to enjoy!
'Letters To Santa'.
It's back! Letters to Santa was such a gorgeous and popular theme a few years ago that we have bought it back to life but with an even better snowy backdrop! Children can enjoy playing on the sledge or reindeer, pretending to dash through the snow, throw a few snowballs at me before making a special magical wish into the envelopes to then post in the Christmas mailbox. With a range of festive props (some traditional that returning clients will know and love and some new) in different sizes and materials to suit all ages from baby to adult, there will be plenty to add sparkle and fun to your images and engage children so that they have a magical experience!
EITHER £25 session fee (due at the time of booking) to book the Full Christmas session; This will include photographs taken on the two real backdrops listed above plus 1 digital scene listed below,
OR £20 session fee (due at the time of booking) to book the Full Christmas session to include photographs taken on just the two real backdrops listed above with no digital scene.

'Waiting for Santa' digital backdrop scene.
This backdrop becomes more and more popular each year, it is a timeless and beautiful way of capturing the magic of belief at Christmas. How many of you gazed out of the window as a child on Christmas eve, hoping to catch a glimpse of a certain sleigh or a red nose in the night sky? And do your children do the same with such excitement?! Available as an add-on to the festive real backdrops listed above or just on it's own as a short 10 minute session. Children are photographed against a large light source which produces soft diffused 'moonlight', whilst looking or pointing upwards, and during post-processing they are seamlessly and professionally edited into this gorgeous night-time window scene.
This year, I have decided that we may be able to include your family dog in the 'Waiting for Santa' digital scene. This will be allowed on Sundays only, and at my discretion. Please contact me in advance of booking to discuss this option.
NEW! 'Candle-lit Cosy Window' digital backdrop scene.
Introducing another gorgeous Christmas digital backdrop scene. This one sees children through a beautiful decorated window, as if you're catching a glimpse of what a cosy winter evening looks like, and what it looks like from the outside as children excitedly peer out of the window looking for santa's sleigh. This is available either as an add-on to the festive real backdrops, or on it's own as a short 10 minute session. -This scene is suitable for upto 3 children.
DIGITAL SCENES ARE £29 EACH OR TWO FOR £50. -Price includes the session fee (due at the time of booking) and also includes 1 finished digital image for each digital scene.
FAQ'S
What age are the Christmas sessions aimed at?
-Children and babies of all ages are welcome to come along, and provisions are made for any babies who are not yet sitting or standing un-aided so they can join in too!
-Parents are very welcome to join in too. Occasionally a child may only want to have photos taken if parents join in so be prepared with your own outfit.
-Please contact me in advance of booking if the photoshoot will involve cousins; once my studio is set up for christmas sessions the space is limited so it will be at my discretion as to how many adults and children can fit in at one time, two sessions may need to be booked together and we do an overlap of the cousin images in between so as not to become overcrowded and potentially impact the success of the session.
Where are the sessions taking place?
-Christmas sessions will take place at my lovely studio in Acomb, equipped with everything we need for the photoshoots so you just need to turn up and enjoy the session!
When are the sessions taking place?
-November 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th, 12th & 13th. Additional dates may be added if these dates sell out.
How long will the session last?
-Approximately 30-40 minutes long.
-The digital-only scenes are super short 10 minute sessions.
What clothing should we wear?
-Christmas jumpers are always great! Christmas pyjamas will work well too.
Specific colours of clothing which work are; reds, dark greens, plum, gold, creamy neutrals, or earthy (beige, olive, brown). Tartan is also always a winner with Christmas sessions. Please don't hesitate to get in touch prior to your session to discuss outfits if you are unsure what might work.
When do I receive my images?
-Turnaround time will be upto 2 weeks to receive proof images. I edit sessions in the order they take place. Finished digital images are instant downloads and are ready within a few days of your proof viewing (allowing time for any further editing that is required). Print orders take about a week to come back to me and all prints must be collected from my studio unless we have discussed any type of delivery.
