'Golden hour', what's that?
Golden hour is the magical hour (or so) before sunset especially during the summer and autumn months. That time of day when the air is hazy and not as bright as the morning and afternoon sun, when there is a lovely warm glow over everything. That is what us photographers call golden hour, and it's the best part of the day (on a sunny day anyway), it is such a beautiful time of day to photograph during!
There is a great open space I have been visiting with my own children recently in York, completely away from traffic and hustle and bustle of the city, covered in a blanket of wispy long grasses which create this naturally wild area. Of course, once I saw it's potential as a great location for photos I went back with my children again and we spent a lovely late afternoon exploring, playing ring-a-roses and hide-and-seek! It's during these moments that I take the best pictures of them, no cheesy smiles necessary, just natural raw expressions and happy faces!
Here are a few images of my youngest two children, enjoying each others company (for once, it feels like a rarity amongst the sibling quarrels and rivalry!)
How much is a photoshoot?
A 'Golden Hour' photoshoot is £25 to book, then you have two packages to choose from after viewing your images, both of which include digital images and prints!
Package 1 - £75 - includes 4 digital images (via download), 4 matching prints in size 5"x 7" and one luxury mounted print in size 8"x 6".
Package 2 - £125 - includes 8 digital images (via download), 8 matching prints in size 5"x 7" and 2 luxury mounted prints in size 8"x 6".
-Upgrade on package 2 to receive all the rest of your digital images plus a complimentary 8"x 6" mounted print for just £50.
When are they taking place?
We do need the sun to make an appearance for these photoshoots, so there will be a few dates to choose from during the weeks in august and some in september, if the first agreed date between us turns out not to be ideal weather-wise we will also agree on a back-up date to fall back on. These photoshoots will take place between 6.30pm-7.30pm.
Where are they taking place?
