The gift of memories.
I am super excited to launch Mother's Day Photoshoots for 2023! And this year, there's a lovely twist!
Mother's Day is a day to honour mothers and motherhood. Being a mum is tough sometimes, but it is the most rewarding and enjoyable job in the world!
Sometimes as mums, we get so busy with our work, our chores, to-do's and just being a needed parent that we forget to be in the moment, let alone capture it.
My daughter was looking through some photos on my phone with me, from a day out at the coast, and after a few minutes and many swipes across all the pictures, she asked "mummy, where are you?" It made me stop and think; I had been so busy making sure the kids were having fun, were safe and warm, fed and watered whilst snapping some pictures through the day of them playing and exploring... I had not thought to jump in the photos with them.
A week later, we went back to the coast and had yet another brilliant family day out, but this time I made sure to include myself in some photos, wether it was selfies or my partner capturing some natural moments of us all. My point is, our children want to see US in those photos, they want to remember that we were there too. I mean, they will have many memories with us, stored away in their bright minds readily available to revisit anytime, but to have photos of us to hold in their hands, flick through, admire on the walls, they are physical memories that they can treasure.
The twist!
Like every years' Mothers Day photoshoots that I do, these are a chance for mums to have beautiful natural images taken with their children, capturing the connection and love. This year, if you would like to, I would also like to invite your own mums to come along! Three (or more) generations of grandmother, mother and child(ren). How lovely is that idea? Of course this, is completely optional and we can just keep it as mummy-and-child, but the opportunity is there to have even more priceless memories captured, making this a great gift idea for your own mum this Mother's Day or just a treat for yourself.
The set for this year has a lovely warm boho vibe, creams whites and neutrals with a lovely floral hoop frame designed especially for these photoshoots. There are lots of cushions and blankets plus seating for maximum comfort and a relaxed feel.
You can either purchase this as a gift to yourself (and receive flowers and chocolates at your photoshoot) or as a gift box for your partner/wife/mum which comes with a voucher for the photoshoot, chocolate and scented goodies.
How much is the photoshoot?
-The cost is £99
What is included?
-A 30 minute (approx.) photoshoot
-5 digital images + matching prints in size 5"x 7"
-One luxury mounted print in size 8"x 6"
-Additional digital images and/or prints can be purchased on top if you wish to.
Where and when will the photoshoot take place?
-The photoshoot will take place at my studio in Acomb, York. It is located on the first floor so please bear in mind there are some steps to reach me, for any grandparents with reduced mobility. I will of course assist if needed.
-Spaces are available to book on Friday 24th, Sunday 26th and Monday 27th March, plus Saturday 1st April. If you want to book in but cannot make one of these dates please get in contact and we will see what we can do!
Who can come to the photoshoot?
-These photoshoots are for mums and their children, and the option for grandmothers to come along too. If, for example, you have a sister who wants to come along with her children to both be photographed with your mum, two separate sessions will need to be booked and we can overlap two slots to allow us enough time to photograph everyone. Please contact me to discuss this before booking to see what I think we can make work.
-Sorry dads, this one is a treat for the mums and although you are more than welcome to come to the photoshoot, you will have to book in for a separate family photoshoot before you can jump in any photos!
What should we wear?
-The set is natural boho vibes, so clothing that is neutral earthy colours will work very well. White/cream/beige/brown/mocha... pastel colours will also be good, like pastel pink/blue/green/yellow. Denim is always a good go-to for legs or dresses/skirts. Your comfort is priority so just make sure you feel good with what you're wearing.
